Breaking News

Earlier than usual this month, as we wanted to get news and new walks out in time for half term. We’ve been very busy this month, with 15 new walks online, mostly from the South West and South Wales, with others in the North East, North West, North Wales and Yorkshire. So, plenty to keep you busy there!

For some areas you will now also find a list of free walk suggestions. These are lovely places to go with a pushchair, but which don’t really warrant a full write up. You’ll find a list of locations with their main features shown alongside the main walks. More suggestions welcomed! Contact us here.

As part of our ongoing efforts to make the site more and more user friendly, we have started introducing coloured dots on the location maps, so you can now see whereabouts easy, moderate and hard walks are located. Most areas are now complete, with new maps for North Wales and Yorkshire coming online in the very near future.

You’ll notice a new link on our area pages to What’s on 4 Little Ones, a brilliant site detailing groups and activities in your area. So, if you don’t fancy going walking, why not have a look and see what else you could do to keep the little ones occupied over half term.

Just over a week to go before our photo deadline on October 31st, so keep the pictures coming in! Remember, up for grabs is a copy of Yorkshire Dales Walks with Children, so all of you walkers in Yorkshire, send us a photo!! We want to see where you’ve taken your pushchair, and you can email us here.

Our Hallowe’en Special….

When shall we three walk again?

In thunder, lightning and in rain!

When the pushchairwalk is done,

When the tantrum’s lost and won,

Or maybe a waterfall

Good news – the obstacles at the start of PWNW24 Llyn Padarn have been reduced thanks to the replacement of the ladder stiles by gates.

If anyone notices changes to the accessibility of any of our routes e.g. new stiles, gates, improved path surfaces or even path closures please let us know. We try to re-check routes, but it’s not possible to check everything regularly, so we have to rely on feedback to keep our information up to date. Any changes can be emailed to us by clicking here.
